Perc Test in Prattville, AL

Alabama Surveying and Mapping provided a perc test for our customer in Prattville, Alabama. We checked the soil for a proposed septic tank system.

Most people think a perc test is all about the rate water percolates in a test hole. That is part of the equation, but it is really the profile of the soil and the slope of the land. Too sandy, too much gley, mottles and similar characteristics are not good for a septic system. If poor soil is discovered, other options are available, although the cost rises – for example a mound system, shallow placement, an engineered system or a pump system.
