Land surveyor for Calera, the gateway to Shelby County
Calera sits where I-65 and US-31 cross the Chilton–Shelby county line, just a few exits north of our office in Clanton. Its location has made it one of the fastest-growing cities in the region, with new subdivisions and apartment communities on land that was pasture and woods not long ago. Calera’s name comes from the lime and limestone that shaped its industry – and the same rocky, rolling ground makes accurate grades and drainage design important on every new site.
Staking new construction
In August 2019 Randy staked the slab for an apartment building in Calera. Construction staking turns the architect’s and engineer’s plans into stakes and grades on the ground: building corners, slab elevations, utilities, curbs and parking. Getting it right the first time saves concrete, time and arguments with the inspector.
From the lot to the certificate of occupancy
For builders putting up homes in Calera’s subdivisions, we handle the survey work in order: a site plan for the permit, house corner staking before excavation, a foundation survey after the slab is poured and a final as-built survey when the lender or the city asks for one.
Buying an older home or acreage on the edge of town? A boundary survey shows the true lines, any encroachments and the improvements on the property before you close.

Great experience. I deal with residential surveyors on a regular basis, but when I purchased a tract of land, Randy was recommended by the bank, and turned out to be very responsive, was able to do the job on a very tight schedule, and for a very reasonable price. I highly recommend him for any surveying you need.
